Lake Garda in September

Wednesday 11th Today we went by the early boat to Sermione and were pleasantly surprised as it was not too busy. We had our first Aperol  followed by a ‘Sermione ice cream’!

Then it was time for the boat to Bardolino and a wander round the town. Over lunch we (well AP) decided that we should go back to the shop with an excellent stock of handbags for 13 Euros and yes, how could we resist such bargains?  We walked back to Garda, it was now becoming seriously hot.

Thursday 12th  We set off to get the boat to Gardonne but found that it was full. Plan B needed and at Heather and Chester’s suggestion, we got the boat (which in its previous life was a car ferry) to Torri.

We really liked Torri, it was not at all crowded, very unspoiled and a superb relaxing day. We walked along the waterfront, had a beer, walked round the town, had lunch enjoying the view and caught the mid-afternoon ferry back to Garda. We really felt that we slowed down today……and no bags were bought!
